Many people don’t understand that snacking can be good for you, even if you have diabetes. That is if the snacks are healthy. Healthy diabetes snacks usually include foods such as fruits and raw vegetables, but they don’t have to be limited to those. The important thing to remember when choosing healthy diabetes snacks is to find snacks that are not packed with calories and carbohydrates. You also have to understand that if you eat many snacks, you have to cut down in how much food you eat in your regular meals. You also cannot snack too often. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) states that even healthy diabetic snacks can be unhealthy if you eat too many of them.
