A recent review article that was published by researchers at Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing has shed new light on the link between Vitamin D3 and diabetes. Specifically, the researchers found that if a patient is taking at least an adequate amount of Vitamin D3 and diabetes is already diagnosed, the complications that might normally be expected will be reduced, or at least delayed. Vitamin D has many health benefits beyond those pertaining to Vitamin D3 and diabetes, but it should be of particular interest to diabetics because of the benefits mentioned above and because it plays an important role in sensitivity to insulin and insulin secretion.
